LeBron James trains with G League team once more.

LeBron James took to the court once again with the South Bay Lakers in a recent practice session without any lingering effects, a positive sign following his return to 5-on-5 action for the first time since the playoffs over six months ago.

The 40-year-old James had been sidelined for the entirety of training camp and the first 12 games of the season for the Los Angeles Lakers due to sciatica, a condition causing nerve pain in his lower back and right side.

As the Lakers wrap up a five-game road series facing the New Orleans Pelicans and the Milwaukee Bucks, James continues to train with the G League team in his ongoing recovery process.

Sources close to Wednesday's practice described it as "intense," highlighting James' focus and determination as he aims to make history by entering his 23rd NBA season.

During Thursday's practice under the guidance of South Bay coach Zach Guthrie, James once again engaged fully, participating in the live 5-on-5 drills without any reported discomfort in his lower back or right side.

Looking ahead, the Lakers have a practice scheduled in El Segundo, California, next Monday following the conclusion of their road stretch, with the possibility of James rejoining the team if his recovery progresses as anticipated over the weekend.

Meanwhile, in a noteworthy move for South Bay, the team secured Kobe Bufkin from the Motor City Cruise in exchange for a 2027 first-round pick in the upcoming G League draft.

Bufkin, a 6-foot-5 guard chosen as the 15th pick in the 2023 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks, adds depth to the South Bay squad, prompting the release of guard Jace Carter as part of the transaction.
